Over the May holidays, Caritas-Spes arranged a special celebration of gifts and sweets for the children of internally displaced people from Ukraine’s conflict zone.
The idea for the event came up after the completion of the Father for Ukraine campaign, during which footwear was distributed to children from underprivileged categories of internal refugee families.
And so for three days, on 7-9 May, around 500 children are receiving presents and enjoying themselves. Yesterday, the first day of the festivities, the holiday hall was filled with warm sunlight and the cheer of children’s laughter.
Sister Anastasiya, welcoming those present, stressed the importance of such events, which bring the children so much warmth and joy.
A funny clown named Kvakusha and a group of young singers entertained the children. The children took an active part in the program, happily singing and dancing along.
Afterwards, everyone had a chance to try out the nice lodgings. Each child received a Samaritan gift “from one child’s heart to another’s”
