Caritas-Spes provides financial assistance for winter preparation as part of the Emergency Appeal project

The Religious Mission Caritas-Spes Ukraine started preparing Ukrainians in frontline areas for the cold season several months ago.

In August 2024, local centers in the Kharkiv-Zaporizhzhia and Odesa-Simferopol dioceses began registering people to receive one-time financial assistance under the Emergency Appeal project. The aid focuses on frontline areas, where people will be able to withstand the winter, with priority given to households with members who have disabilities or chronic illnesses, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and families with more than three minors.

As of October 2024, assistance was paid to about 1,100 households.
