End of the 2nd HOPE project camp: wrapping up and reflecting on key outcomes

The second camp of the HOPE project has come to an end. For participants, it was not only a time of support but also a period of inner change.

Among the 23 displaced people from Donetsk region, there were those who evacuated from dangerous areas together with their pets. This clearly supported their emotional well-being and helped their recovery process.

Participants received individual social assistance and psychosocial support from specialists. Some families also asked for legal advice and were able to find answers to their questions.

Shortly before the end of the camp, representatives of the national office of Caritas-Spes Ukraine visited the participants for a monitoring visit. They spoke with the team and the displaced families, and discussed their next steps after leaving the camp. Many participants are already planning changes in their lives: some are choosing a new place to live in Ukraine, while others are looking for work and new opportunities.

The camp has finished but for everyone it is the beginning of a new stage, a step forward with experience, support, and faith in their own strength.

HOPE is an important initiative for the most vulnerable people in regions of Ukraine that have suffered the most from the conflict. The project gives evacuated Ukrainians a chance to feel stable again, gather inner strength, and believe that even after a difficult journey, it is possible to start over.
