The final Step Forward summer camp of the year has officially begun in Zhytomyr region
August brings another opportunity to fill childhood with genuine smiles, new friendships, and small victories. With this spirit, the final summer camp of this year has begun as part of the Step Forward corrective and rehabilitation programme in Zhytomyr region.
Children with disabilities aged 9 to 13 have arrived at our centre together with their parents and legal guardians. During the first few days, they met our team of psychologists and physical therapists and made new friends among the other participants. Step by step, an atmosphere of trust is taking shape, where every child can feel confident, safe, and accepted.
One of the first activities was play therapy. Through play, children explore the world, learn to interact with others, and discover their own strengths. Our specialists prepared adaptive games that encourage teamwork, teach children to follow rules, accept both success and disappointment, and support one another. For many participants, these activities also represent an important step towards social inclusion, as their everyday opportunities to interact with peers are often limited.
Many more activities lie ahead, all designed to nurture creativity, provide psychological support, and strengthen physical development through tailored therapy.
Step Forward is a project that creates a barrier-free space where every child or young person with a disability can be heard, accepted, and engaged in active life.
