Mykhailo and Viktoriia Kupchyn from Cherkasy region have been married for 16 years. During this time, they have built a large family and are now raising four children. Their youngest son, Roman, is almost two years old.
The full-scale war changed the family’s life. From February 2022 to May 2023, Mykhailo served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took part in combat operations. Later he continued his service in the volunteer unit «Da Vinci Wolves» and took part in the liberation
of the Kupiansk direction from occupation forces. In light of this he missed many important moments in the lives of his children and family.
Returning to civilian life became a new stage that required time and adaptation. Mykhailo felt a strong need to act and build a better future, but everyday life turned out to be different from what he had expected. The family had to learn again how to be together,
how to listen to each other, and how to build their daily life as a unit. Most of the responsibility during this period fell on Viktoriia, who managed the household and raised the children on her own. It was a difficult time for both of them, as each went
through their own process of change after a long separation. That is why the Kupchyn family decided to join the project Veteran’s Family – to find support, restore mutual understanding, and go through this journey together.

Veteran’s Family is a project that brings veteran families together through habilitation camps for all family members. It creates a safe space for psychological support, shared living experiences, and restoring inner strength.
