Aliona Voitiuk is 35 years old, and her son Makar is just 2. A month ago, they had to leave their native village in Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving behind their home and farm. Shelling was becoming more frequent, and the danger was too great. Desperate not to risk her son’s life – the most precious thing she has – Aliona reached out to the evacuation service.
Thanks to our partners at Save Ukraine, the family safely arrived at the HOPE project center in Zhytomyr region. During the month, our specialists helped Aliona and Makar adapt, supported them in everyday life, and even managed to complete her IDP documents.

HOPE is an extraordinary initiative for the most vulnerable people in the regions of Ukraine most affected by the conflict. The project gives evacuated Ukrainians the chance to feel solid ground beneath their feet again, gather inner strength, and believe that even after a difficult journey, it is possible to start anew.
