Winter is over, but the lives of people in frontline areas remain tense and dangerous.
Caritas-Spes Sloviansk continues to evacuate people along with their belongings from hazardous regions in Donetsk Oblast. “Our city was constantly shelled; we could no longer live like this,” shares Yulia. Our team evacuated her and her mother from the city of Kostiantynivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast in early February.
“The road was fine, and the girls were very caring. We have adapted somewhat to our new place, living in a dormitory. Thank you for helping us move our belongings, as we didn’t know what we would have at our new location. There was nothing here. We are very grateful to you for everything,” Yulia shares about her evacuation experience.
The women were taken to Petrivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. As part of the Emergency Appeal project, they were registered for MPCA Rapid cash assistance to ease their adaptation in the new location.
We are sincerely grateful to all the benefactors from Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Paderborn for the opportunity to help people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
