The 4th camp of the Veteran’s Family project has come to an end. Over 10 days, families of veterans met each other, shared their experiences, and spoke about their life stories. Although the participants are returning home, the warm memories of this unique experience will stay in their hearts for a long time.
The final day at our center in the Zhytomyr region was full of emotions: some participants held a veteran’s hand with tears in their eyes, others laughed non-stop, enjoying the last moments of the camp together.
As tradition goes, the team of psychologists presented the participants with project chevrons. The families also shared their “trees of achievements” and left their signatures on the flag as a memory of their time together. To finish the camp, everyone gathered for a festive cake — a symbol of ten days filled with warmth, mutual support, and unforgettable moments.
The Veteran’s Family project brings together families of veterans through habilitation camps for all family members. It creates a safe space for psychological support, shared experiences, and the restoration of inner strength.
The initiative is implemented with the support of Caritas Norge and Caritas-Spes Ukraine.
