The Ambassador of Slovenia visited the construction of the Rehabilitation Center for children and youth with disabilities in Zarichany

On February 16, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia Tomaž Mencin and his deputy Blaž Masle visited Zarichany (Zhytomyr region), where Caritas-Spes Ukraine and Slovenska karitas are implementing the reconstruction of the Rehabilitation Center for children and youth with disabilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs RS / Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Slovenska karitas provided financial support in the amount of 134,000 euros and 63,000 euros, respectively, for the repair work in the center.

The rehabilitation program is planned to reach up to 1,500 children and youth with disabilities per year.

After visiting the future rehabilitation center, Mr. Ambassador and his deputy also visited the Caritas-Spes Ukraine center in Zhytomyr and the social kitchen of the local center, where free hot meals are distributed to internally displaced persons.

Mr. Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to the Caritas-Spes Ukraine team for organizing the visit and the opportunity to see with his own eyes how, even in winter, the construction of the rehabilitation center continues every day.

Tomaž Mencin also noted that in addition to the official support provided by Slovenia in Ukraine, there are many Slovenians who constantly send humanitarian aid to Ukrainians and personally support us in our struggle for freedom.
