Children’s Day with Caritas-Spes Lutsk

The Caritas-Spes Lutsk team, in partnership with student volunteers from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the Caritas-Spes Young team, organized a large-scale celebration of Children’s Day at Lutsk Castle. The goal was to create a safe, joyful, and educational environment for children from various social backgrounds, combining play, learning, creativity, and genuine care. The program included thematic locations (medical aid, emergency services, patrol police, archaeology), workshops, sports and interactive games. Volunteers handled organization, guidance, animation, and gift distribution.

Duration: 1 day (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

Beneficiaries:

486 children, including:

  • IDP children
  • Children with Down syndrome
  • Children with autism
  • Children with disabilities
  • Children from large and low-income families
  • Children of military personnel
  • Orphans

Volunteer Team:

117 volunteers (students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and Caritas-Spes Young volunteers)

Results:

  • More than 10 thematic and creative activity zones held
  • A safe space was created for recreation, communication, and joy
  • Every child received a gift and positive emotions
  • The event showcased the effective teamwork of a large youth volunteer team
  • Parents had a chance to rest while children felt seen, loved, and cared for
