“We don’t have an official slogan yet — because everything is just beginning. But we already know for sure: it will be about gratitude, unity, and kindness.”
Our team is very young — it was formed by teenagers who, since October 31, 2022, have been participating in the project “Continuation and Expansion of Psychosocial Support for Ukrainian Refugees in Eastern Slovakia and IDPs in Ukraine”,
implemented by Spišská Katolícka Charita with support from Jersey Overseas Aid, Caritas Belgium, and CAFOD.
During this time, the teenagers actively showed initiative at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Social Center, but due to their age and school responsibilities, their volunteer involvement was limited.
When a shortage of volunteers arose in Kharkiv for assembling food packages, the teenagers were offered to help — and without hesitation, they said “yes.”
11 teenagers
Ages: 14 to 16. We dream that our team will grow — uniting more kind, sincere, and caring hearts.
A simple yet very important task — one that requires attention, care, and kindness.
What inspires our young volunteers most is the example set by the adult volunteers at Caritas-Spes Kharkiv. Despite difficult conditions, they continue to serve — working at mobile aid points, traveling to remote communities, undeterred by cold or hardship. Another important source of inspiration is the kindness the teens themselves received at the social center. Through activities with animators and psychologists, they became friends, united, and formed a true team — a team that now wants to share that same kindness with others.
Stay connected with us, share kindness, and be inspired together with us.
